Jeannie Tyrrell is a California-born singer-songwriter whose work draws from a deep well of personal history, theatrical training, and investigative storytelling.

“I realized that songwriting lets me say what journalism sometimes can’t,”
says Tyrrell, reflecting on her debut single “Petaluma, California,” a raw and nostalgic tribute to her hometown and late father.

Born in Sonoma County, she spent her early years on the move, living across the state, an experience that fostered a strong sense of observation and narrative.

After years in journalism, she transitioned to songwriting, embracing music as a way to tell stories journalism couldn’t.

In 2020, she published Brain Drops, a book she describes as “a news report for the world in my own voice.”

Her first single, “Petaluma, California,” dropped in July 2025, marking the beginning of a body of work that explores memory, grief, and the lasting imprint of home.

Her follow-up single “Time Loop” arrived September 5 and continues her exploration of memory, connection, and emotional truth.

Petaluma, California

"Petaluma, California" is the debut single by Jeannie Tyrrell.

A tribute to home, memory, and enduring love, the song honors Richard Bruce Tyrrell, who passed away on April 6, 2021.

Time Loop

“Time Loop” is a joyful, memory-soaked track that celebrates friendship, family, and the fleeting moments we wish we could relive forever.

Inspired by Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling," the song captures the feeling of being suspended in time with the people you love most.

It's about laughter, connection, and the kind of happiness that makes you want to hit rewind.
